Financial Aid and Scholarships
Learning how to pay for college can be very overwhelming and stressful. Rio’s Financial Aid office can provide you with the peace of mind to eliminate much of the worry. Even if you are not planning on taking Federal Loans, FAFSA is required to be eligible for scholarships, grants, and other forms of aid. Learn more and apply today.
Meet with your Success Coach and schedule classes
Now that you have been accepted, it’s time to schedule a meeting with your student success coach to schedule classes. Starting this early
can make sure you get the schedule that fits your needs.
Orientation
You’re on your way! At orientation, we make one last check to see you’ve got everything you need to get started next fall. Orientation provides you and your guest(s) an opportunity to answer any lingering questions as well as meet fellow new students and their families. You will have the opportunity to speak directly with department representatives to answer any questions or get assistance.
Housing
Living on campus can provide you with several activities that promotes success in and outside the classroom. As a freshman resident you’ll be a part of a community where you’ll be surrounded by a family of peers that will support you through your journey.
The Housing Application Process includes four components. The first three must be completed by the priority deadline of Friday, June 13. The fourth must be submitted prior to check-in.
1. Complete the New Student Housing Application
2. Register for classes
3. Submit the $200 housing pre-payment
4. Submit the Medical History Form - This must be submitted prior to Fall 2025 check-in

Not living on campus? Though you may not be here 24/7, there are many ways to stay involved at Rio. Student organizations, sporting events, campus activities are all welcoming and available to you to enjoy at no additional charge.
