Rio Grande’s Pike Center to Host Open House and Ribbon Cutting

4/11/25

Rio Grande Community College will host a ribbon cutting and open house event at its new Pike Center on Thursday, May 1. The open house will begin at 3 pm, with the ribbon cutting ceremony at 3:30 pm. Afterwards, the public is invited to enjoy refreshments and take a tour of the facility.

The center’s creation is the result of a public-private partnership between Rio Grande Community College and WAI Construction Group. It is located in Piketon at the site of the former high school.

Designed to provide accessible and affordable higher education to the residents of Pike County and surrounding area, the new center opened to students in January. The center offers general education courses, an Associate’s degree in Social Services, and a College Credit Plus program, which allows high school students to earn college credits. Plans for additional educational opportunities are already underway.
