Parking
Rio charges a universal parking and safety fee to all students taking classes at one of Rio’s locations. This fee will support parking lot maintenance and safety features, including campus lighting and cameras, across Rio’s many parking lots.
What this means:
- All students enrolled in at least one class on any of Rio's campuses will automatically be assessed the parking and safety fee.
- The fee will appear on the student's bill and will be eligible for coverage under the student’s financial aid package.
- Students taking all online or blended online classes will automatically be opted out of the fee
- CCP students will automatically be opted out of the fee
- Agency international students will automatically be opted out of the fee
- All students will have the option to opt out of the fee based on the following terms only:
- The student is a residential student who will not have a car on campus
- The student is a commuter student who does not possess a valid driver's license and will thus be dropped off and picked up on campus for classes
- The student lives within walking distance of campus; therefore, will not park on campus
- Students wishing to opt out should complete the Rio Parking Fee Exemption Request Form. This form will route to campus police for review and subsequent approval/denial.
- All students approved for the opt-out will have the fee removed from their bill in the third week of classes.
- Students will follow the same process as in prior years for obtaining parking passes.
- The individual Centers will own this process for their specific location.
- Students who do not pick up and display their parking pass will be issued a fine, as in the past
- The first two weeks of class, students will only receive a warning. Tickets will start in week three
