Refuge: Artist Sandra Reed Exhibition on Display at Rio

The Esther Allen Greer Museum is currently presenting Refuge, an exhibition by artist and Marshall University professor Sandra Reed, on view through April 3.

A meet-the-artist event will be held Wednesday, March 25, at 3:30 pm in Greer Museum. The event will include an informal gallery talk designed to spark conversation between Reed, students, and the public.

The show features 28 pieces of Reed’s art created over the past five years.

“I love how these works look in the Greer,” Reed said. “The proportion and lighting in the space reiterate the intention that this work provides a place of respite and reflection.”

Reed, a Professor in Marshall University’s School of Art and Design, is an accomplished educator and artist whose career spans decades of teaching, exhibitions, residencies, and arts leadership. Her work is held in both private and public collections, including the LaGrange Museum of Art, the United States Navy Memorial, and the Telfair Academy of the Arts.

The exhibition is open to the public during regular museum hours.
