He served with the 101st Airborne and later in U.S. Special Forces as a Green Beret, completing multiple overseas deployments, including service in Iraq and Kosovo, as well as assignments with a counter-narcotics task force on the U.S.-Mexican border. During his decade in uniform, he rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class and earned numerous commendations, including the Bronze Star.

Elected Ohio Secretary of State in 2018, LaRose is focused on strengthening election integrity and supporting business growth across the state. In addition to his public office, he serves on the board of directors for the Ohio History Connection and is active in veteran and community organizations.
