Academic Awards
Presidential Scholarship $8,000
The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to students with a 3.51 or higher college GPA. Students must maintain the URG Scholarship Terms and Conditions for the scholarship to be renewed each year. This scholarship is for students who are in their Junior or Senior year at Rio Grande.
Provost Scholarship $7,000
The Provost Scholarship is awarded to students with a 3.01 to 3.50 college GPA. Students must maintain the URG Scholarship Terms and Conditions for the scholarship to be renewed each year. This scholarship is for students who are in their Junior or Senior year at Rio Grande.
Dean Scholarship $5,000
The Dean Scholarship is awarded to students with a 2.51 to 3.00 college GPA. Students must maintain the URG Scholarship Terms and Conditions for the scholarship to be renewed each year. This scholarship is for students who are in their Junior or Senior year at Rio Grande.
Merit Scholarship $3,000
The Merit Scholarship is awarded to students with a 2.0 to 2.5 college GPA. Students must maintain the URG Scholarship Terms and Conditions for the scholarship to be renewed each year. This scholarship is for students who are in their Junior or Senior year at Rio Grande.
RedStorm Scholarship
Priority Filing Deadline: January 15th (Students can continue to apply for these scholarship through the beginning of Fall semester. However, priority will be given to those students who apply before the Priority Filing Deadline.)

University of Rio Grande Art Scholarship

Freshman Scholarships
District Counselors Scholarship
One – 4 Year Full Tuition
Full-time, entering freshman student; attends a high school in the four-county (OH) service district of Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton; minimum GPA of 3.2/4.0 and a minimum ACT composite of 21 (or SAT of 990 CR/M); resume, letters of recommendation and an essay. Deadline: January 15, 20201
Rio Grande Community College - Jake Bapst Scholarship
Eleven – 2 Year Full Tuition only
Full-time, entering freshman student; attends a high school in the four-county (OH) service district of Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton; based on high school GPA, ACT or SAT test results; school and community involvement; selections are made from those students recommended by their high school guidance counselor. January 15
Out-of-State or International Student Scholarships
Rio Grande Scholarship
Rio Grande students that are from out-of-state will be charged the University rate tuition. Out-of-state or International students are given academic awards similar to the Junior and Senior level students. These scholarships range from $2,000 to $8,000 and are determined by the students high school GPA and ACT (SAT) scores.

Austin E. Knowlton Memorial Scholarship
You must be a graduating student from any Ohio high school; have a declared major in mathematics or a related field; 3.00 or higher cumulative GPA at the high school level.
Chi-Omega Alpha-Chapter of Athena
Applicants must be an Active member, or a Daughter or Grand Daughter of an Alumni of the Chi Omega Alpha Chapter of Athena Sorority Please note that all scholarship awards are on a first come, first serve basis. Student’s financial need will be considered when selecting recipient(s). All information must be completed on the application to be considered for scholarship selection.
Delta Epsilon Chapter Alumni-Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity Scholarship

Delta Epsilon Chapter Alumni-Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity Scholarship
HOW ESTABLISHED
This scholarship is established by the alumni of Delta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity to encourage scholarship achievement.
STIPULATIONS
This scholarship is established by the alumni of the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi. The principal will remain intact in perpetuity. Additions may be made to the endowment at any time.
The annual scholarship(s) from this fund will be awarded to descendants of Alpha Tau Delta or Alpha Sigma Phi, Delta Epsilon Chapter Alumni who meet the criteria below. If there are none who meet the criteria then a full-time track student athlete at the University of Rio Grande who is of sophomore, junior or senior status will be considered. . To be eligible, a person must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have financial need to complete his/her studies. Recipients of this scholarship shall exhibit exceptional promise, energy, desire to succeed and be an exemplary student at the University of Rio Grande.
The student may receive the scholarship annually to be applied to tuition only, for as many as two years, if he/she meets the criteria set forth.
- Full time students at the University of Rio Grande
- Must be a Sophomore or higher
- Take a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester
- Earn a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Is a student in good standing at the University of Rio Grande
- Demonstrates leadership on campus
- Is involved in service to the community
- First priority given to descendants of Alpha Tau Delta or Alpha Sigma Phi, Delta Epsilon Chapter Alumni
- Second priority given to a track athlete
- Applicant needs to submit the attached application and include an essay detailing their qualifications
CANDIDATE SELECTION
Recipients of this scholarship are selected by the University’s Scholarship Committee which is chaired by the Director of Financial Aid who shall seek and receive advice from the Alumni Association, consisting of any of the following: President, Vice President, Secretary and or Treasurer when making the selection on the recommendations. We may want to have an award ceremony.
In awarding the scholarship, the University’s Financial Aid Office shall notify the Alumni Association President and Vice President when the award has been made.

Fraternal Order of Archon Alumni Scholarship
Applicants must be an active member of the Archon Fraternity. Please note that all scholarship awards are on a first come, first serve basis. Student’s financial need will be considered when selecting recipient(s). All information must be completed on the application to be considered for scholarship selection.
Henry E. and Marjorie M. Fruth Scholarship
This fund was established in 1986 and is restricted to students from Mason County, WV studying at the University of Rio Grande with good academic standing.
Jack and Frances Fruth Scholarship
This fund was established in 1992 and awarded to active employees, or a dependent of an active employee, of Fruth Pharmacy who is enrolled full or part time at the University of Rio Grande. The recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA during their course of study at the University. Students must demonstrate community involvement through work experience and /or community service volunteer activity.
KIBBLE FOUNDATION Scholarship
You must be a graduate of a Meigs County Ohio High school to be eligible for this award.
Robert Rees Scholarship
You must be a graduate of a Gallia County Ohio High school to be eligible for this award.
