Internship Stories

Shalea Byrd at internship with Robin Fowler State Farm enjoys a cup of coffee next to cut out of Jake from State Farm

Shalea Byrd '24

"My internship with Robin Fowler State Farm turned into a great job opportunity for me. Since starting my internship there I got my insurance license and became and full-time employee. I have learned so much during this experience and am excited to work through the rest of the school year!"

Mason Dishong sits behind desk as he interns for Holzer Health Systems

Mason Dishong '24

When starting my internship at the end of May, I would have never thought I would have learned and grown the way I have in my field. I am very grateful for the opportunity that was given to join the Holzer Health System Marketing team for the summer. I can’t thank My Marketing Manager, Karrie Davison, and Director, Melissa Davis enough for all the knowledge they have taught me. Thankfully, I have been offered a full-time position within the Marketing Department and to tell you it is a great honor. I am excited for this next journey in my life and couldn’t have done it without the wonderful Professors, Coaches, and especially Renée Delawder for all the education and valuable knowledge you have taught me through my time at the University of Rio Grande! If present me could go back to myself when I was first starting at Rio and say where I would be today, I would have never believed it, Rio really does change tomorrows.
