Valerie Evans

Dr. Valerie Evans, DNP, RN

Valerie has lived in Cincinnati, OH for over ten years, although she is originally from Cleveland, OH. She received her Registered Nurse (RN) licensure via a Master of Science in Nursing from Xavier University, along with certifications as an Advanced Board-Certified Holistic Nurse (AHN-BC) and a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL). Valerie furthered her studies at the University of Cincinnati to achieve her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) and advanced practice nursing certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Her clinical practice has focused on the divisions of psychiatry and emergency services. Valerie's main hobbies include gardening and spending time with her dogs.

Fulk, Hilary

Dr. Hilary Fulk, DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC, CNE, C-EFM

Dr. Hilary Fulk is an Assistant Professor in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program.  She has been a nurse since 2007 and a nurse educator beginning in 2011, teaching in prelicensure and graduate nursing programs including didactic instruction, laboratory, simulation, and clinical settings.

Dr. Fulk is a certified nurse practitioner in the specialty of women's health. She has a Multistate License (compact) in her home state of Ohio, in addition to Illinois and Michigan. She has been caring for women in OB/GYN and community clinics throughout Central Ohio and has worked for the State of Ohio caring for incarcerated women, with a focus on obstetric care and infectious disease. Dr. Fulk also has a background in medical-surgical/telemetry nursing.

Dr. Fulk has completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Ohio University and attended the University of Cincinnati to complete a Master of Science in Nursing Degree. In 2018, she obtained certification as a nurse educator (CNE) by the National League for Nursing (NLN). Dr. Fulk completed her doctorate degree in 2019, as a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Healthcare Systems Leadership. Her DNP project was: "Impact of Postpartum Simulation on Nurse Response and Confidence in Emergencies". This project improved nurse recognition and response to postpartum emergencies through the use of simulated drills and an obstetric early warning criteria tool. She has presented at the Ohio League for Nursing, the Bowling Green Nursing Symposium, and at the Fourteenth National Doctors of Nursing Practice Conference in August.

Dr. Fulk is a member of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), the Ohio Association of Avanced Practice Nurses (OAAPN), the American Nurses Association (ANA), Ohio Nurses Association (ONA), and Mid-Ohio District Nurses Association (MODNA), in addition to the National League for Nursing (NLN) and Ohio League for Nursing (OLN).
