WELCOME WEEKEND ’21
Residential Student Check-In Procedure
Move in Days/Times
New Students: Thursday, August 19th 12pm-4pm at Lyne Center
Returning Students: Friday, August 20th 9am-1pm at Lyne Center
*Students needing to arrive outside of those times should submit the Request for Different Check-In Form. Failure to receive approval may result in 1) a $50 fine assessed to the student’s account or 2) the inability to check-in upon arrival.
All residential students, upon arrival to campus, must check-in at Lyne Center to either 1) receive a rapid COVID test (if unvaccinated) or 2) submit a copy of their COVID vaccination card (if vaccinated). Students will not be permitted to check-in at their residence hall until being cleared by Health Services. If a student is vaccinated but unable to produce their vaccination card they will be required to test. If a student has tested positive for COVID within 90 days of check-in and can provide documentation they will not be required to test.
Rio requires the use of facial coverings in indoor settings on campus for staff, students, and guests who are not vaccinated. Please bring your own covering or a temporary covering can be provided to you. Please communicate with firstname.lastname@example.org if you have a documented medical condition preventing you from wearing a facial covering.
Limitation of Guests
In order to decrease congestion in the residence halls, a student may only be accompanied by two guests at check-in.
Role of volunteers
Volunteers will be available throughout move-in to assist with larger items. If you know you need assistance, please email email@example.com ahead of time so we can coordinate some volunteer efforts.
Entrances and exits to buildings will be marked and directional arrows will be placed throughout the buildings. The main entrance to each building will serve as the only entrance; all other doors will serve as exits. Please follow the arrows in order to decrease congestion.
Campus Police will direct you upon arrival to campus. The attached map highlights our residential buildings, main entrances (denoted with a star), and traffic flow on check-in days. Automobiles may be parked in “check-in” zones (denoted by the colored arrows) temporarily for unloading but then should be moved to any of our parking lots so that others may check-in.
Fall Athlete Check-In
Some of our fall teams begin pre-season training prior to traditional check-in. Please check with your coaching staff if you are to report to campus early. Additional check-in information will be sent to players on these teams.
