Why I chose Rio: I love the location and the scenery around our beautiful campus. Rio also has a great volleyball program, and I wanted the opportunity to play the sport while in college.
Deciding my major: I really enjoy the hands-on learning aspects of Rio’s nursing program. It’s also a very highly accredited program, so I know I’m getting a quality education. The program makes me feel like I’m on the right career path.
My favorite thing about Rio: My favorite thing about Rio is creating life-long friendships. Coming from another part of the state meant I didn’t have many friends with me here on campus, so I had to meet people and make new friends. It’s like having my own little Rio family now.
My favorite class: Anatomy with Dr. Dana Evans! I’m fascinated with how the human body works. I think it’s interesting to learn how and why the body reacts to certain things the way it does.
Plans after graduating from Rio: After I graduate with my RN and my associate degree, I hope to continue studying to earn my bachelor’s degree. My dream is to be a nurse in pediatric oncology.
