The highly creative artwork of student artists from the University of Rio Grande are now on display in the annual “New Directions in Art” exhibit at the Markay Cultural Arts Center in downtown Jackson.
The exhibit, which features the artistic creations of 15 different artists, was officially unveiled at an opening-night reception held Friday evening, March 3 and will continue through Sunday, March 26. As usual, the range of the artwork is widely varying, but includes ceramics, sculpture, digital printing, and mixed media.
Artists represented in the New Directions in Art exhibit are: Kevin Coppock, Gabriel Richmond, Emma Nesbitt, Patricia Parsons, Bradley Willett, James Kelley, Barb Abels, Emma Lyles, Joseph Hamilton, Letifa Karriem, Keri Lawrence, Emma Blankenship, Tegan Pierce, Hally Wilson, and Staesha Copley.
