Work Experience
  • September 1983 – present. University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College.
  • March 1986 – May 1986.  Half-day substitute teacher at Jackson High School, Jackson, Ohio, while also teaching at RIO.  Taught two Bookkeeping I courses and had a study hall. This gave me some public education experience.
  • 1976 – 1982 Southern Ohio Skills Center, Jackson, Ohio. Adult Business and Office Education Instructor–taught office skills courses.
  • February 1982 – June 1982. Buckeye Valley Career Center, Allensville, Ohio. Business and Office Education instructor for an Intensive Office Education night class.
  • February 1982 – May 1982. Buckeye Hills Career Center, Rio Grande, Ohio. Business and Office Education Instructor for the Jackson-Vinton County Youth Education Training Program (YETP) on Saturdays.

Throughout my teaching experience here at the University of Rio Grande, I have served on numerous college committees.  Some of the more recent college committees that I have served on or am presently serving on are:  Academic Policy (formerly Academic Affairs); Academic Curriculum Committee; Portfolio Committee; Tenure Committee; Search committees for personnel to include the dean’s position for the College of Professional Studies, technology faculty, administrative positions, and staff positions; and a judge for the 2011, 2015-2017 Ohio Region 2 Business Professionals of America events held at Buckeye Hills Career Center and the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College, Rio Grande, OH 45674.

Served on several committees to start Allied Health programs on campus to include Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Respiratory Therapy, and Pharmacy Technician.

Serve on interview committees to select/accept students in the RAD, DMS, and Respiratory Therapy programs.
In addition to present duties, I am an advisor to office technology and allied health students.

  • Nominated for the Ohio Association of Two-Year Colleges’ 2005-2006 Teacher of the Year Award
  • Appointed as a biographical candidate to represent Rio Grande in the Empire Who’s Who of Women in Education.
  • Selected for inclusion in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, 2005.
  • Nominated for the Edwin A. Jones Excellence in Teaching Award in 2004.
