I was born and raised in Meigs County, Ohio. I have two beautiful daughters and several precious grandchildren. I worked as a sonographer from 1986 to 2005. Once I heard that the University of Rio Grande was starting a Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program I knew that teaching was the next step I wanted to take in my career. I immediately applied and was blessed to be hired as a faculty member for the DMS program.
Being a resident of this area, I am thrilled to be able to help educate and train local residents to obtain gainful employment in our region that will in turn, provide quality healthcare for our communities.
Having worked as a clinical sonographer and now as a sonography educator, I can make a statement that very few people can: “I have taught students in the classroom that I scanned as fetuses in the womb.” How cool is that!!
