I am a biomedical scientist with an emphasis in physiology and a bit of neuroscience. My research interest focus on changes in the blood-brain barrier (BBB) in disease. The BBB is a vascular interface that protects the brain from systemic circulation, and its compromise has been implicated in many diseases, such as diabetes, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease.
