This course is designed to provide the students an opportunity to continue to perform the skills they have obtained in previous respiratory courses and the skills introduced in RCP 20104 Mechanical Vent Technology and Management and RCP 11304 Respiratory Fundamentals III. Emphasis is given to the development of efficiency in the practice of fundamental and advanced airway management, ABG sampling and analysis, pulmonary function testing and sleep studies. The student will receive supervised experience in caring for the critically ill cardiopulmonary patient. Twenty-four (24) clinical hours a week. Course fee required. Prerequisite: successful completion of program sequence.
