This course introduces the student to special needs of the neonatal and pediatric patient. Fetal cardiopulmonary development and changes at birth are covered. Equipment, procedures, and methods used in the care and evaluation of neonatal and pediatric patients are also covered. Cardiopulmonary conditions and diseases particular to neonates are discussed. Two-hour lecture, three-hour lab. Course fee required. Prerequisite: successful completion of program sequence.
