This course is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of strength and conditioning and will primarily provide knowledge and skills needed for training for athletic performance. This course will go beyond the 5 health-related components of physical fitness, cardiorespiratory endurance, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and body composition needed for the average population of people to achieve health and prevent disease and cover training these components for athletic performance. In addition, this course will cover topics on training the performance-related components of fitness, such as, power, speed, agility and long term periodization.
