Archons host Alumni Reunion Picnic
RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Since its inception in 1958, Alpha Chi Nu’s service to the University of Rio Grande has been nothing short of exemplary.
The Fraternal Order of Archon – the oldest Greek organization on campus – celebrated its second Archon Alumni Reunion Picnic on June 22 with service and brotherhood again taking center stage.
“It’s a family event; we want everybody to have a good time,” Archon Alumni Association President Len Longo said. “We welcome everybody, not just Archons. Students. Current Faculty and Staff. All Alumni. It’s a celebration of the entire Rio Grande family.”
The picnic featured picnic-style food and beverages, games with prizes for kids, carriage rides, horse and pony rides, jewelry making and an endless supply of fond memories.
The Archons remain both an active on-campus fraternity and an active alumni organization. Archon alumni contributions have included the Dean S. Brown Student Activities Room in the Davis University Center RedZone, furnishings of the Man Cave lounge in Moulton Hall, gazebo between Davis Hall and Davis Library, and more.
Plans are in place for the Archons to provide a sidewalk along East College from Holzer Hall to Davis Hall.
