Several outstanding faculty members from the University of Rio Grande were recently granted promotions by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees.
Chris Barker was promoted to the position of Associate Professor. Barker teaches in Rio Grande’s radiologic technology program.
Tracey Boggs, who also teaches in the radiologic technology program and serves as the director of the program, was also promoted to the position of Associate Professor.
Valerie Valentine, Ph.D., was promoted to the position of Associate Professor in the Bunce School of Education.
Kimball Clark, Ph.D., was granted tenure by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees. Clark teaches in the School of Science in the Kidd Math and Science Center at Rio Grande.
Benjy Davies was also granted tenure by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees. Davies teaches graphic design in the School of Fine and Performing Arts, located in the Berry Fine and Performing Arts Center.
Lennie Davis, R.N., was also granted tenure by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees. Davis teaches in the Holzer School of Nursing at Rio Grande.
Donna Martin, Ph.D., was also granted tenure by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees. Martin teaches in the School of Science in the Kidd Math and Science Center.
Darlene Ringhand was also granted tenure by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees. Ringhand teaches in the Evans School of Business, located in Bob Evans Farms Hall on the Rio Grande campus.
John Hill, Ph.D., was also granted tenure by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees. Hill also teaches in the Evans School of Business, located in Bob Evans Farms Hall.
Sangeeta Gulati, Ph.D. was also granted tenure by the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees. Gulati teaches in the Bunce School of Education.
Faculty members are nominated for tenure after they have been reviewed and recommended by peer committees and the provost office. Tenure is granted to faculty members with outstanding records who are expected to provide long-term value to Rio Grande and its students through their teaching and leadership skills.
The promotions granted this year to faculty members show their qualifications and teaching skills, and each faculty member contributes in numerous important ways to Rio Grande and its students.
