Rio Grande Spreading Its Wings in Jackson

This large building at 780 East Main Street in Jackson will soon become the new location of the University of Rio Grande’s campus center
Very soon, the University of Rio Grande will have a much larger physical presence in Jackson.
Speaking to local economic development leaders Thursday evening, University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College President Dr. Michelle Johnston spoke about the university's plans to purchase the former Daymar College building at 980 East Main Street in Jackson. She says the university plans to open a new campus center at that location and start offering classes there when the spring semester begins Monday, Jan. 9.
Dr. Johnston was the special guest speaker at the Annual Appreciation Reception of the Jackson County Economic Development Partnership (JCEDP), which was conducted at the Markay Cultural Arts Center in downtown Jackson. JCEDP Director Jennifer Jacobs, Assistant Director Sam Brady and Board Chair and Jackson Mayor Randy Heath served as the hosts and conducted the program.
