Saint David's Day 2003

Dr Bill Thomas, MC

This year the program consisted of a very special guest from the National Assembly of Wales.  Mr. Rhodri Glyn Thomas talked about devolution in Wales and Independence for Wales.  He highlighted the importance of support for Wales in other countries. The contribution of Welsh-Americans, he noted, was not to be underestimated.

Kara Lewis, Rhodri Glyn Thomas &  Dr Barry Dorsey

The night was then dedicated to singing. A special tribute was paid to Mr. D. Merrill Davis of Jackson. Mr. Davis has been the pivotal force behind most musical activity in Jackson, including the Welsh Eisteddfod which still continues in schools today. The St. David's Chorus, formed and led by Mr. Davis, reunited after twenty years. The performance was very moving. The choir performed effortlessly and requests have been made for the choir to meet again.

Dr Kent White of Jackson organized the choir and led the group singing.
