We all have beliefs about teaching and learning, beliefs that we put into play in our classrooms.  When we write curriculum, create assignments, design a course, we are making decisions based on what we value as teachers and learners.  The Teaching Manifesto Workshop offers us a chance to get those beliefs and values down on paper and, hopefully, into our syllabi. 
     A teaching manifesto is a document that we can revise into pedagogical statements that could front our individual course descriptions/syllabi.  After writing our manifestos, we will use them to practice a responding technique developed to reduce the time we spend responding, while increasing our effectiveness as responders:  Sideshadowing.
