The School of Fine Arts welcomes guest artists the Clarence Light Orchestra for an afternoon of bluegrass and outlaw country to benefit the University's Music Department. The CLO is based in Columbus and has rapidly made a name for themselves, performing all over the Central Ohio area. It is made up of former Rio graduates Jesse Edwards, Joey McKinney, Jimmy and Beth Caudill, as well as other Central Ohio musicians.
Tickets are available in the Fine Arts office or at the door. $10 for adults, $5 for students with valid I.D.s.
They will be joined by current Rio music student, Andy Milliken, who will open the concert with a set of original songs.
Andy Milliken is a 26 year old native of Wilkesville, Ohio. He has been writing songs in a more or less country style for over ten years. Andy is one of few young musicians around today who can remember working in smoky barrooms. He says they are still around if you know where to find them. Andy sings and plays guitar. His songs are personal and realistic. He is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education here at Rio.
