Band Camps at the University of Rio Grande have always been a great summer activity for area high schools and drum corps.  Beginning in the 1970's the University opened their doors to bands from a three state area to practice and rehearse for upcoming football and competition seasons. The number of outdoor practice fields as well as inside facilities offer the visitors a vast amount of rehearsal sites as well as air conditioned dorms, olympic size swimming pool, campus book store, University dining hall and a 24 hr police security.
