BFA-Visual Art

Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is the standard undergraduate degree for students in North America seeking a professional education in the visual or performing arts.  The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree typically consists of two-thirds of the courses being studio art and art history courses, with one-third in general education courses. A typical Bachelor of Arts program would only require about one-third of the courses in the arts, and two thirds in general education and minor or elective courses.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is the preferred degree for students wishing to embark on a career in the arts, or to continue their education in graduate school.

The University of Rio Grande’s curriculum, faculty and facilities are structured in accordance with the College Art Association’s guidelines for BFA programs, and the program is accredited by the Ohio Board of Regents.
