Rio SENSE

 

 

 

 

 

The University of Rio Grande's RIO SENSE (Software Engineering for National Security Enterprise) is a Bachelor of Computer Science degree designed to train students to solve some of our country's most difficult problems in national security and intelligence. RIO SENSE provides students with real-world skills they need to succeed in a rapidly growing industry. Students will be mentored by experts in military intelligence as they master leading edge methods & technologies such as:

  • Linux Operating Systems
  • Java, Python, C, and other Programming Languages
  • Encryption Algorithms
  • Database Programming
  • Web Development
  • Mobile Application design
  • Network Design, Security and Penetration Testing
  • Scrum Methodology
  • And More!

 

RIO SENSE students will also have the opportunity to gain real-world experience through summer internships with BTS Software Solutions at their offices in Gallipolis, Ohio and Baltimore, Maryland. BTS Software Solutions employment positions will also be available to top RIO SENSE students upon graduation from the University of Rio Grande.

The RIO SENSE program is designed for students interested in or already in the process of pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Software Development/Engineering. The program is best suited for students who are mathematically skilled, problem solvers, technology early adopters, critical thinkers, self-organizers, and team players.

Students interested in RIO SENSE may apply through the Rio Grande web site www.rio.edu/admissions. Please submit the application for admission, high school transcripts, and transcripts for other colleges you may have attended. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. The deadline for priority scholarship consideration is March 1. Check available scholarship opportunities and complete the University of Rio Grande Academic Excellence Scholarship application.
