In the interest of supporting a healthy environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors, the University of Rio Grande Board of Trustees has approved a tobacco-free campus policy that applies to the use of all nicotine-derived products.

There will be a transition period, currently in effect and lasting through May 9, 2016, that designates the smoking area at each campus as follows:

  • Rio Grande: Rear of Holzer Hall
  • Meigs at the Bernard V. Fultz Center for Higher Education: Gazebo
  • McArthur: Benches at the end of the front sidewalk
  • Jackson: 50 feet from the entrance

Beginning May 10, 2016, the University will become a completely tobacco-free environment.

Thank you for your attention and compliance with this new policy.
