Password Resets

Everyone juggles multiple user accounts today.
Keeping passwords updated is a tough and confusing task.

Even advanced users can forget a password or require assistance to reset a password.  Providing a secure Identity Management System for user authentication and access control is a most serious endeavor which we take seriously. Campus Computing & Networking is a HELP DESK where providing friendly assistance to our users is a most valued service.

Password Resets

RioNET accounts, used to sign into campus computers, wireless, email, and Blackboard all share the same base password.  Follow these steps to reset or change your RioNET password.

Register for Self-Service Password Resets:

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to http://reset.rio.edu.
  2. Select Registration Portal.
  3. Enter your RioNET username & password (you may need to put URG\ before your username. Ex. URG\facultystaff or URG\s#########).
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete registration.

If you know your password and want to change it:

  1. Log into any RioNET connected computer on main campus or at the Meigs Center.
    Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL at the same time and release the keys...
    Choose "Change Password" and follow the steps.
  2. Use the online Self-Service Password Reset Portal.
    You must register for self-service resets before your can use the Reset Portal.
  3. Contact the Help Desk by phone or in person. CC&N Help Desk staff will ask the user to validate their identity, so be prepared to answer a few simple questions.
