Little River Print Project

The Little River Print Project is a faculty-directed, student-run fine arts workshop whose mission is to create original fine art prints in collaboration with professional visual artists. The project began in 2012, and produces an average of 3-4 editions of original prints each academic year.

Each artist is selected by a committee of faculty and students, invited to Rio’s campus to draw, design and create the wood block, etching plate, lithographic stone, transparencies, or screens with which to create a series of twenty identical prints. Under the direction and supervision of the Master Printer (Professor of Art Benjy Davies), the students prepare the paper and printing surfaces, mix the inks, ink the matrices, register colors, collate, distribute and document the finished edition.

Each edition is split with the participating artist. The Greer museum and each printer get one print from Rio’s share of the prints. The remaining prints are available for sale.
