The Office Technology program is designed for individuals interested in pursuing an interesting, exciting career as an office professional. The introduction of the computer and other technology has helped changed and broaden the job description and duties of the office professional of today. Office professionals, therefore, assume a much more active role in performing day-to-day activities in the office. Graduates of the Office Technology program will be prepared for employment in one of many types of office environments such as those in health care, education, legal, social service, and technical service fields as well as those in manufacturing and construction.
The Office Technology course of study is designed to service a two-year program in either (administrative office assistant, medical office assistant, or legal office assistant) leading to an Associate of Applied Business Degree in Office Technology. Students who graduate with a degree in Office Technology may find this training to be a stepping stone toward a management position or other related fields such as teaching; office and administrative support staff; supervisor; paralegal; medical assistant; office manager; human resource staff; and labor relations manager. The Office Technology program prepares students to meet the challenges of today's ever-evolving office environment.

- Opportunities should be best for applicants with extensive knowledge of computer software applications.
- Secretaries and administrative assistant are increasingly assuming responsibilities once reserved for managerial and professional staff.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the occupation of office professionals is projected to be among the fastest growing occupations with the largest number of new jobs. Salary for office workers depends to a large part on the location and type of organization. Typically, salaries are higher in large metropolitan areas. Salaries can range from $24,000 to $40,000 and up.
