Kelly began her professional journey with Rio in 2011 when she was hired as the Assistant Coordinator of Accessibility within the Office of Student Services. In 2013, Kelly advanced to the Director role and has recently absorbed additional duties in the coordination of campus mental health services. As the Director of Accessibility and Mental Health Services, she advocates for and supports students with ADA documented disabilities. Additionally, she actively develops and implements comprehensive mental health program services and activities designed to facilitate the physical and emotional well-being of students. Outside of her responsibilities in this position, Kelly serves as a confidential Survivor Advocate to survivors of sexual violence, as an adjunct faculty instructor of social work, psychology, and student success and as co-chair of the Rio Helping Hands Food Pantry.


Kelly received both her associate and bachelor degrees in social work from URG and graduated with a Master of Social Work (MSW) in Clinical Social Work from Ohio University in 2013. Kelly is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of Ohio and is currently pursuing a generalist independent license (LISW). In addition to her dedication to Rio, Kelly also works as a hospice social worker and as a support group facilitator at a local women’s shelter. Kelly is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Ohio Association on Higher Education and Disability (OH-AHEAD), the National Association of Social Workers – Ohio Chapter (NASW-OH), the Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence (OAESV) and the Rio Threat Assessment Team.
