The Accessibility Office of the University of Rio Grande and Rio Grande Community College is committed to advocate for the student with an ADA documented disability. It is the policy of the University to ensure that students with disabilities receive appropriate accommodations as well as to their instructional activities as mandated by state and federal law. Accommodations
Our mission "is not to make things easier, but to make things equal". Accommodations are recommended after eligibility has been established based on student provided documentation of the disability. The student is considered the responsible party and would be expected to self proclaim by contacting the Accessibility Office. Accommodations are the result of a signature agreement of Student and Counselor. Each Semester would have a new course schedule, different instructors, and possibly different accommodations. The enrolled student is expected to provide a current schedule to renew his/her accommodations each semester.
