The mission of the School of Humanities is to support the General Education core curriculum by improving proficiency in reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, and interpretative analysis.

While the sciences and social sciences deal primarily with facts and with the scientific method for testing hypotheses, the humanities focus on works of the human imagination as well as human thought: ideas and philosophies, arts and literature, language and meaning, and values and ideals.

The School endeavors to provide students with a broad-based liberal arts education and an appreciation for the humanities, preparing students for a variety of careers, including opportunities in law and ministry and for study abroad.
